Downloading from Search Results in Advanced Search

You can download tables from Search Results in database compatible files, download prepackaged products, and download Reference Maps. After reviewing the information below, you can expect to learn about:

 

Download Data Product(s) from the Search Results

Download Data Product(s) from the Search Results

Tables downloaded from Search Results are formatted as database-compatible comma-delimited (.csv) files and are packaged together in a single zip file.

 

1.    Select one or more data products from your Search Results using the checkboxes next to the search results. You can download up to 10 products from the search results page at one time.

A Download Dialog Window displays indicating the number of products you selected for download.

3.    Click OK.

A dialog window displays the progress as American FactFinder builds a zip file containing the products you selected for download.

4.    When American FactFinder displays “Your file is complete”, click Download images\ebx_-1175223489.gif

5.    The browser then displays a dialog window allowing you to open or save the zip file. This dialog window may look different, depending on the Internet browser used.

Downloading Prepackaged Products

1.    From the Product View page, click the Product hyperlink at the bottom of Results page

2.    Follow the instructions provided by your Internet browser to open or save the file.

 

Download a Reference Map

1.    From your Search Results, click on the Geographies option located on the left side of the page.

2.    Click the Map tab

3.    Make your selections and/or map modifications

4.    Click the Download icon on the Reference Map toolbar.

5.    The Download Dialog Window displays:

6.    In the Download Dialog Window, select a format to save the file:

a.    If a database compatible format (CSV) is selected, select the checkbox to include descriptive data element names if you wish to have element descriptions added to your file.

b.    If the presentation-ready format (PDF or Rich Text Format) is selected, select the orientation for the download (portrait or landscape), and a paper size (8½” x 11” (letter) or 8½” x 14” (legal)).

7.    Add an optional title using the Map Title box. A map title can be up to 50 characters long.

8.    Click OK.
