Printing

Print tables or maps using your Internet browser or the AFF application print function.

If a table is wider than one page, use the AFF Print button images\ebx_1729546216.gifon the Actions Bar to create a printable PDF version of the table.

For tables larger than one page, column and row headers repeat on each page of the PDF.

When printing a data product, the product titles, labels, head notes and footnotes are included on the printed output.

 

Print tables using the PDF format

1.    Click Print on the Actions Bar of the table view.

2.    The print pop-up window displays.

3.    Select an Orientation and a Paper size and click OK.

4.    The table will be displayed as a PDF. If the table is wider or longer than one page, it will split into multiple pages. The pages are created in the following order:

5.    To print the PDF, click the Print button on the Adobe® Acrobat® tool bar.

 

Printing a Table with the Internet Browser

You can also use the Internet browser’s print function to print a data product. If the table is wider than will fit on a printed page, the browser may truncate the table.

 

1.    Click File from the Internet browser’s menu bar, and then click Print.

2.    Click OK.

 

Printing a Map

 

Printing a Reference Map:

1.    Click the Print button on the map toolbar.

2.    The print pop-up window displays.

2.    Select an Orientation and a Paper size.

3.    Add an optional title to the map using the Map Title box (limited to 50 characters).

4.    Click OK.

5.    A map will display as a PDF in a new browser window.

6.    Print the PDF document.

 

 

Printing a Thematic Map:

1.    Click Print from the actions tool bar of the map view.

2.    The print pop-up window displays.

3.    Select an Orientation and a Paper size.

4.    Add an optional title to the map using the Map Title box (limited to 50 characters).

5.    Click OK.

6.    A map will display as a PDF in a new browser window.

7.    Print the PDF document.

 

 

Optimize Black and White Printing of Maps

 

For best results for black and white printing, you may need to modify the colors used to display the themes on the map.

 

Thematic Maps:

1.    Expand the Color and Data Classes selection.

2.    Modify the color range, selecting starting and ending colors that provide a high contrast ratio.

3.    Modify the transparency as needed.

4.    Click Go.
