American FactFinder provides help using the following:
The more information button displays “metadata ”, or “information about the data” for a selected product.
The help button provides information on American FactFinder features.
The glossary provides definitions of keywords and terms used in American FactFinder. Click the Glossary in the upper right hand corner of any American FactFinder page to access the Glossary. Click the first letter of the word in the Table of Contents to find the definition and scroll the alphabetical list of glossary terms, Click the term you are looking for to display the definition in the accompanying window.
Another way to find a glossary term’s definition is to click the search tab in the upper left hand side of the help window, above the Table of Contents. Enter the word in the search box and click Go. Under the search results click the word you were looking for and it will display with a definition in the accompanying window.
Click the FAQs link in the upper right corner of any American FactFinder page to access the Census Bureau’s frequently asked questions page. The Frequently Asked Questions page is a list of questions and answers about American FactFinder. Use the search box on the FAQ page or read through the questions to find answers.
Use the Feedback feature to ask questions and provide comments to American FactFinder staff. Click feedback in the upper right hand corner of any American FactFinder page to display the feedback form. Enter questions and comments in the textbox on the form, include your contact information to receive a response, and click OK.
